About QPMedia

The traditional process for motion picture duplication, delivery and exhibition in movie theatres has been in place for many years. This workflow is modeled around the distribution of individual film prints on a film-per-screen basis. Films are duplicated in Labs, mounted on cores, placed in canisters, shipped to theatres, spliced together, projected for weeks, broken down, put back in cans and shipped back for destruction or storage. It is a costly and cumbersome process and the film degrades with each showing, reducing the quality of the image on the screens.

Given technologies available over the past century, this method was the logical choice for most effectively distributing high quality images and sound to audiences in theatres. New tools now offer options that achieve equivalent quality and lower cost, with the promise of significant future enhancements. For an industry that has seen very little change in its 100-year history, the next few years will present the motion picture business with new methods, new tools, new workflows.

QPMedia provides all the tools necessary to enable studios, distributors and theatres to take advantage of digital cinema. Our primary goal is to ensure the secure, reliable delivery of movies from studios to theatres. We have developed workflow processes that provide elegant, functional solutions for studios, distributors and theatres to adapt to the new world of digital cinema. As an additional service, QPMedia qualifies third-party hardware and software solutions that we have validated as working together in a system, thus simplifying the complicated choices facing anyone trying to implement digital cinema for their business.
